Friday my friend, Malinda White and I volunteered at the Special Olympics in Springfield. WE had the best time and loved talking with the athletes that were there. We came back with lots of fun stories from the kids and lots of great memories! We both plan on doing it again next year and maybe take more friends with us!

Just Think.....
Just think, you’re here not by chance, but by God’s choosing.
His hand formed you and made you the person you are.
He compares you to no one else— you are one of a kind.
You lack nothing that His grace can’t give you.
He has allowed you to be here at this time in history to fulfill His special purpose for this generation.
God loves you...
He chose you to be His own. I THESSALONIANS 1:4 NLT

Girls being blessed
We had a baby blessing today for those new babies and young children who have not been blessed before. It worked out great because David was home to participate in the event. Everyone in the church body agree to help bring up these children in our church and take care of them as needed. The parents agree to raise them in a Godly environment.
WELCOME HOME!

We had a "Welcome Home Party" for David on Saturday at my house. We had a good crowd and lots of yummy food. We all sat around and just talked for hours. It was fun getting together. David leaves to go back to Iraq on June 3rd. He will be there until Feb. 09

Bless the Broken Road....
On the way to work this morning I was listening to 88.3 the Wind, Christian Radio. And a song I had heard on the country stations started playing. It was by a female and it took on a whole NEW meaning to me.
Here are the lyrics and when you put my life up until now in this song it is like she sang it for me! SO I ordered the accompaniment CD and will try and work on it to sing in church one Sunday.
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true
Now I'm just rolling home
Into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.

The Reunion!
Here are a couple pics I took at the airport of David's arrival. Everyone was smiling from ear to ear.... Happy Times.... He will leave in 18 days.. Should be around June 3rd.
WELCOME HOME DADDY!!!!
Well, David is home now! We picked him up at 3:30 p.m. yesterday at Springfield/Branson Airport. He and Heather we smiling from ear to ear the rest of the day... Constance went right to him at the airport, Ivy just kept looking at him like "I think I am suppose to know you". By the time they got home, Ivy was all over daddy and Constance was backed off a little I guess measuring things up! When I got home 2 hours later they were all just one big happy family, playing with the girls and the girls were in rare form!
As soon as Heather gets the pictures from the airport downloaded I will post a couple of them as well.

Special Olympics
I have decided I should do something to give back to society and as I have volunteered before for the Special Olympics here in Springfield and in Kansas City area, That is what I am going to do.
I filled out my volunteer packet and am scheduled to work the Summer games which are May 28, 29 and 30th. I will be working on May 30th from 7 a.m. until noonish. I am excited to start giving back and love working with "Special" people!
Once I am finished with the Summer games I will post pictures! It will be a very great time as well as a blessing! Anyone want to join me! I can guarantee if you do it once, you will want to go back every year!

HERE WE GO........ WEE WEE
Well I got my call from the surgeon's office this a.m. and I have my last appt. with him on June 5th, I have to pay for everything then, ugghhh BUT at least it is only 575.00 instead of 17,000.00 if I was self pay! Then I go to pre-admission get that started, then start my 2 week liquid diet and looks like I will have surgery on either June 20th or June 27th, whichever I can get. I asked for a Friday surgery so I can recoop over the weekend and go back to work on Monday.... It will be so nice to get this part out of the way and I can start working on the new me.
I will have Heather take a before shot of me (which will be awful, but I have to bite the bullet and do it!) and start a scrapbook of the whole entire process. Heather warned me there will be a camera used on my surgery date... so don't laugh when you see those photos! LOL
Can anyone tell I am so excited?!?!?!?!?!?

I just found out today that I am approved through my insurance for the lapband surgery! Now I get to make my final appt. with the surgeon and get my surgery date, do my pre-op tests and then start the liquid diet which last 2 weeks prior to the surgery! I am soooooooooo excited. I will keep posting about the progress I am making as each step is met!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY......
Happy Mother's day to all.... I got to spend the day with my daughter and two special little girls. We went after church to see my mom, and wish her Happy Mother's Day as well.
Services at church today we very good, with the Virtues of a Righteous Woman and all of the mother's being honored.
Here are a few pictures from today! I sure miss my baby boy though and his wife Codie.... Hopefully, next year we can spend the day together or a day close to Mother's Day....

Reflections...
I was doing dishes yesterday and thinking about my life up to this point. Yeah, I have had alot of fun, laugh out loud times in my life and then some NOT SO FUN times. But I believe all of the times in my life are what have made me who I am today. Yes, we all have quirks or personality glitches with in us, but for the most part I feel like I am the best I can be at this point in my life. I know I have areas of improvement (don't we all!) but I guess what I am trying to say, is I am OK with who I am right now!
I am really excited to see what my future holds in the next couple years, five years or even 25 years from now (I will be old as dirt, but will still be trying to have fun and making others laugh!).

The countdown....
Heather is so excited that David is coming home soon for a short visit. This weekend will be crazy getting the house all organized and cleaned and then the yard work also..... I think keeping her busy will keep her mind busy so she doesn't have time to obsess about it all!
I am excited about seeing him too and seeing him interacting with the girls once they get reacquainted! Constance will have no issues, but Ivy will not remember him and she is shy at first with people she doesn't know. I know once he throws her in the air she will be hooked! She loves to fly and Mom and Grandma can use a break from that! LOL
I am sure I will have pictures to post once we pick him up from the airport. I am going with them to be the photographer and then I will come back to work so they can have some family time!
That is all at this moment... just working and coming home and working more....

Not much!!!
Well not much going on in my life right now. My paperwork was submitted to the insurance company the beginning of this week for my lapband procedure, so I am waiting to hear back from that to see if they are going to approve the procedure.
Other than that not much. Waiting for garden area to dry up enough to work it and get some stuff planted. So hopefully, Sunday after church I will be in the garden playing and riding around on the lawnmower later in the afternoon... Oh the life of a country girl!
I will be moving into Springfield area the first part of next year, once Heather and the girls head back to Ft. Hood, TX when David returns from Iraq. The gas prices and the miles I put on my car daily are not good! So Springfield here I come..... Living in the city is alot different and it will take come getting use to again, but I have done it before so no biggy...
Well that is all I have to blog about this week. Hopefully in a week or so I will be blogging about setting a surgery date!
